Title: Berry Fold-Up Pastries

2tbCornstarch
2tbBread crumbs, dry
1 3/4cBerries, fresh (your choice)

1tb;water
  Sugar, powdered
30 Minutes preparation
25-30minutes baking

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix together sugar, cornstarch, and bread crumbs. Sprinkkle over berries; toss to coat.

On a floured surface, unfold pastry, cut into 9 equal squares. Using a floured rolling pin, roll each piece into a 6 inch square.

Spoon 3 tablespoons of berry mixture into the center of each square. Mix together egg and water; brush corners of squares with egg mixture. Lift each corner toward center; pinch to seal. Place pastries on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with remaining egg.

Bake pastries for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Bake until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes more. Transfer baking sheet to a wire rack to cool for 5 minutes. Transfer pastries to a rack to cool. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Baking Tips: If berries are very juicy, line baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up.

Serve pastries for breakfast or with ice cream for dessert.
